Congratulations to Tameside College winners of the Founders Cup.
The competition was part of the ABST conference recently held at Alton Towers. The conference is a celebration of the work that the Alliance for Bakery Students and Trainees does supporting Bakery students in the UK and Ireland. This year celebrated the 100th anniversary of the organisation.
Over the weekend there was a host of activities and events that gives the students a chance to network with other colleges and industry members.
Nelstrops is proud to be an industry supporter of the event and sponsor of this year’s Founders Cup, one of the competition categories available for the students to enter.
The competitions are judged by industry experts from all over the country and they test the student’s skills in all disciplines of baking whether that is bread, cake, pastry or decorative skills.
The Founders Cup is a team event and a multi skill competition that requires the students to produce Scones, Macarons, Palmiers and Multigrain bread.
The standard of entries was exceptionally high across all competitions and is a credit to the students who entered and the tutors who support them. Well done to all students who entered competitions and thank you to the volunteers and industry supporters that keep the ABST going, the work that is done by you creates a bright future for the industry.
